Step through the front door and right back into the Hollywood glitz and glam of the 60's!  Join Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack in this private home built by Sinatra in 1962 for a special “friend,” and rumored to have hosted many private parties and secret trysts outside the prying eyes of the media.  If only the walls could talk!  This is a unique one of a kind home and would be a real treat for anyone who’d like to live (or re-live) the ultra-modern, 60s life style. 

The 2,000 square foot mid-century home offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms and enough space to comfortably sleep six.  Walking into the home you enter the great room with gas fireplace, vintage furnishing and a baby grand piano.  Sorry, this is not the original piano, but close your eyes and you can almost hear the crooning of Frank, Sammy, Dean and Joey!  Also worth noting; the basic integrity of this home has not been altered and most of the original architectural features remain … such as the two spectacular 1920’s Art Deco chandeliers procured from the Fox Theater in San Francisco which are featured in the great room and many of the unique mid-century doors and window coverings.  Just off the great room you’ll find a comfortable den with large flat screen TV, DVD and stereo system.  Close the pocket doors for privacy and the den becomes a third sleeping space for the occasional guest with use of an inflatable queen bed.  True to the mid-century era, this entire home has been furnished and decorated in vintage and 60s modern style, yet offers recent amenities.

In 1962 an all-electric kitchen was every woman’s dream!  This is a dream kitchen.  The electric stove and eye-level oven as well as the built-in countertop blender, are original and in excellent working order.   The kitchen cabinets and some Formica countertops are also original to the home.  Recent additions include a dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator, microwave and kitchen supplies that meet todays cooking needs.

There is casual bar seating for six in the kitchen as well as a dining area that seats four.

The master bedroom has been furnished with a comfortable king bed … and here’s where the “bachelor pad” kicks in again … a full wall, ten foot projection TV with surround sound.  Perfect for those sleepless nights!  The on-suite features a tiled soaking tub for two, a walk-in shower and a two person wet or dry sauna.

The guest bedroom has been furnished with a comfortable queen bed and has direct access to a full bath with tub/shower combination.
 
The outdoor living is spectacular with a private saltwater pool and spa and great views of the mountains and city lights.  With plenty of mid-century style patio seating for dining or entertaining and chaise lounges for sunning by the pool, this home offers the best in indoor/outdoor living and lots and lots of sunshine on the South facing private yard. 

Guests will enjoy the quite location, high up in the trendy Cathedral City Cove, yet within close driving distance to shopping, dining and entertainment and just minutes to down town Palm Springs, Palm Desert and the Palm Springs International Airport.  Many hiking trails are within walking distance.

Other amenities of note:  Each bedroom, the den and back patio are furnished with ceiling fans.  The back patio has a misting system for those toasty days.  The pool can be heated during the winter months and also has a water cooling system for the summer months.  There is a fee for pool heating/cooling, so please inquire first.  The home is equipped with Dish TV basic service but the owner may consider adding TV packages.  Please inquire first.  This home does not have telephone service.  Owner may consider adding phones depending on length of stay.  Please inquire or bring your personal cell phone.  This home is equipped with Wi-Fi.  Owner will consider a small dog.  Please inquire first for owner approval and about the pet fee.

Note:  The owner has locked the converted garage for personal storage.  Guests can park up to four vehicles in the driveway.  The owner has an additional private compound with garages and travel home at the back of the property separated from rental home by walls and a private access gate. This portion of the property is not available to guests. Periodically the owner's grounds keeper will visit and stay at the property.  This will in no way interfere with the use of this home or guest's privacy.
